Helen Devitt Jones Scholarship in Teacher Education

The Helen DeVitt Jones Scholarship is awarded to freshman or sophomore students who are enrolled in the Associate of Arts in Teaching program at SPC. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; and full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more). The scholarship is one of four scholarship programs established by Helen DeVitt Jones through the Helen Jones Foundation. Mrs. Jones, a great humanitarian and patroness of education and the fine arts, was an heir to the Mallet Ranch in Hockley, Cochran, Yoakum and Terry counties. She devoted her life to sharing her wealth as a patron of philanthropic causes.
