Cindy Caswell Blessen Memorial Scholarship in Education

The Cynthia Caswell Blessen Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a freshman or sophomore student who is majoring in teacher education. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; and full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more). This scholarship program was established by the Blessen and Caswell families of Levelland in memory of their wife, mother and daughter. Cindy Blessen was a 1976 graduate of SPC and while a student performed with the traveling musical group “The Baker’s Dozen.” She devoted her career to teaching music to others. She died in 2008. The scholarship program recognizes a student who desires to enter the teaching profession.
