W.V. and Mattie Muriel Felker Memorial Scholarship

The W.V. and Mattie Muriel Felker Memorial Scholarship is awarded to non-traditional students (age 25 or older) who desire to return to college to further their education. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; prior completion of 18 or more semester credit hours of college work; minimum of five (5) years full-time work experience; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more); and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This scholarship honors Dr. Mike Felker’s parents who were highly successful business leaders in Haskell, Texas. Mr. Felker owned and operated a men’s clothing store until his death in 1986, and Mrs. Felker owned and operated a high-fashion women’s clothing store with her sister for 55 years. Dr. Felker is former chair of the English Department at SPC and retired in 2010.
