Bob Beck Scholarship in Chemistry

The Bob Beck Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student majoring in chemistry. Minimum qualifications include: 3.00 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more); and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This scholarship honors Bob Beck, professor of chemistry. Professor Beck joined the SPC faculty in the fall of 1959. He taught 37 years in the Science Department, which included 15 years as department chairman. He retired in 1996. Professor Beck was named to receive the Faculty Excellence Award in 1969. Through the generosity of Science Department faculty, former students and friends, the scholarship program was endowed in 2008.
