Richie McDonald Scholarship in Sound Technology

The Richie McDonald Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding freshman or sophomore student enrolled in the Sound Technology Program. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more) in the business program; and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This scholarship program was established by Elroy and Vickie Wisian to honor Lubbock native and former SPC student Richie McDonald. McDonald studied sound technology at SPC and later performed and recorded as the lead vocalist for the country music group Lonestar. McDonald launched a solo career as a singer and songwriter in 2007.
