The Founders Opportunity Scholarship is a general college scholarship designed to provide students with the opportunity to begin their college education at SPC. Minimum qualifications include: 2.00 grade point average; enrollment of six semester credit hours or more in an associate degree or certificate program; and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. First preference is given to students who reside in the College’s 15-county service area. The Founders Opportunity Scholarship Endowment was established in 1998 on the 40th anniversary of the founding of South Plains College to honor the members of the original 1956 Citizen Committee. Many individuals and companies have contributed to the growth of the fund.
