Vickie Wilks Wisian Scholarship
The Vickie Wilks Wisian Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman student who is considered a first-generation college student in that neither parent has a college degree. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; Texas resident; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more) in an associate degree program; and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This scholarship was made possible through the generosity of Elroy and Vickie Wisian of Lubbock. Mrs. Wisian, a native of Post, graduated from SPC in 1967 and completed her undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University. She taught 24 years in the Slaton Independent School District as a speech pathologist and special education director. Mrs. Wisian is past president and current member of the SPC Foundation Board of Directors.
