Melvin and Agnes Straube Memorial Scholarship
The Melvin and Agnes Straube Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding freshman or sophomore student majoring in pre-engineering. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more); and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This scholarship program was established by Mrs. Agnes Straube in memory of her husband who worked as an engineer for American Standard Oil Company. Mrs. Straube was a homemaker and worked as secretary at Cactus Elementary in Levelland. She was also an active member of the Las Fideles Study Club. She died in 2005.
