Charlie and Cathy Ehrenfeld Scholarship

Department of Communication Chairperson and Professor of Journalism and Plainsman Press advisor Charlie Ehrenfeld along with his wife Cathy established this endowment to support a sophomore student majoring in Print Journalism, Photojournalism or Media Communications. “Charlie” Ehrenfeld retired from SPC in 2021 with 26 years of service including being named the 2012 recipient of the College’s Excellence in Teaching Award. Cathy Luck Ehrenfeld attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and Texas Tech University in Lubbock, focusing on child psychology. She had a 30-year career in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. During that time, she received the “Outstanding Achievement Award” and “Customer Service Award.”
