Max Neal Memorial Scholarship in Welding
The Max Neal Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a freshman or sophomore student enrolled in the Welding Technology program. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more) in the program; and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This scholarship fund honors Max Neal who established Texcraft, Inc., a metal fabrication company in Lubbock. It was funded by his daughter Pamela Neal Hufstedler who is a graduate of SPC. Mrs. Hufstedler now operates the company, and has served on the Welding Technology Program Advisory Committee.
