William and Nina Rose Walker Memorial Scholarship
The William L. and Nina Rose Walker Memorial Scholarship is a general college scholarship that is available to freshmen or sophomore students. General qualifications include: minimum 2.50 grade point average, full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more) in an associate degree program; and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. First consideration is given to students who reside in Hockley County, Texas. This scholarship was established by Sandra Tyle of Levelland, Texas and Diane Hardy of Seminole, Texas, in memory of their parents, who were respected leaders in their church and community, as well as being longtime supporters of community college education. Mr. Walker served as administrative dean at South Plains College from 1961 until his retirement in 1981.
