Cindy Caswell Blessen Memorial Scholarship in Education

The Cynthia Caswell Blessen Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a freshman or sophomore student who is majoring in teacher education. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more); and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This scholarship program was established by the Blessen and Caswell families of Levelland in memory of their wife, mother and daughter. Cindy Blessen was a 1976 graduate of SPC and while a student performed with the traveling musical group “The Baker?s Dozen.” She devoted her career to teaching music to others. She died in 2008. The scholarship program recognizes a student who desires to enter the teaching profession.
