Paul and Verna Musslewhite Scholarship
The Paul and Verna Musslewhite Scholarship is a general college scholarship that recognizes an outstanding student based on academic merit, personal character and leadership. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more); and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. First preference is given to students who are graduates of high schools located in Hockley County. Paul Musslewhite was known as a leader in the community and the oil industry in Hockley County. As an active member of the South Plains Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute, he also was instrumental in establishing the API Scholarship Program at South Plains College. The Musslewhite Family established this scholarship program in honor of their parents. Mrs. Musslewhite resides in Levelland.
