C.M. and Cora Sanders Memorial Scholarship

The C.M. and Cora Sanders Memorial Scholarship is a general college scholarship awarded to a freshman or sophomore student who demonstrates academic merit, leadership and personal character. Qualifications include: minimum 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more) in an associate degree program; and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. During their lifetime, C.M. and Cora Sanders were dear friends of South Plains College. Charlie Sanders served as a member of the original Board of Regents from 1957 to 1967 and is credited with obtaining the Texan Victory Bell that is located at the entrance to Texan Dome. Prior to her death, Mrs. Sanders established an endowed scholarship program in his memory.
