Leona Lincoln Goyette Scholarship in Education

The Leona Lincoln Goyette Scholarship is awarded to a freshman or sophomore student who enrolls full-time in the College’s teacher education program. Minimum qualification include: 3.00 grade point average, full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more) in the teacher education program; and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Ms. Goyette was a public school teacher and the endowed scholarship program in her name was established by her mother, Retha Lincoln of Levelland, Texas. Mrs. Linclon established seven endowed scholarship programs in honor of her husband and five daughters. The Lincolns moved to Hockley County in 1931 and farmed in the Sundown area until they moved to Levelland in 1940. Z.O. Lincoln served as Hockley County Judge from 1944-48 and later worked for the county tax assessor collector?s office. Mrs. Lincoln died in 1994.
