Danny Vest Scholarship

A proud student alumnus and retired employee, Danny Vest has dedicated much of his life to South Plains College. He was an employee from 1984 to 2019. This scholarship was established to honor his high work ethic and commitment to serving students, faculty and staff. It provides support for a student who has completed the Upward Bound program and has a preference for graduates of Levelland High School. Upward Bound is part of the TRiO Programs which was created in 1965 to assist low income or disadvantaged students enter, graduate and move on to participate fully in America’s society. The program was implemented at SPC in 2003. The program serves students in grades nine through twelve in Brownfield, Morton, Levelland, Whitharral and Whiteface.
