Jesse Wood Memorial Scholarship in Agriculture

The Jesse Wood Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a freshman or sophomore agriculture major. Minimum qualifications include: 3.00 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more); and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This scholarship was established by the late Retha Lincoln in memory of her brother Jesse W. Wood who died in 1993. Mr. Wood came to West Texas when he was 17 years old. He and two of his brothers homesteaded in Sundown, Texas. Though his brothers returned to Oklahoma, Mr. Wood stayed and raised his family with the help of his wife, Lorena. He was a farmer and carpenter during his work career.
