Jeanette Swaringen Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship fund was established by David Swaringen of Brownfield to honor the memory of his late wife Jeanette Swaringen who unexpectedly died in January 2017. Mrs. Swaringen began her career teaching kindergarten, first and second grade for the Levelland Independent School District. After acquiring a master’s degree in school counseling, she served 10 years as a counselor for Levelland Intermediate School and later for Capitol Elementary schoolchildren. Recipients of the scholarship must be graduate of Levelland High School with preference given to an incoming freshman, have and maintain a minimum 3.0 high school grade point average, and enroll full-time in the teacher education program.
