Kelvin and Lissa Sharp Presidential Scholarship

The fourth president and first lady of South Plains College, Dr. Kelvin and Lissa Sharp have established an endowment fund that provides scholarships for students in the college’s agriculture program. Preference is given to students who participate in the Livestock Judging program or Collegiate Rodeo program. Minimum qualifications include: 3.00 grade point average; graduation in upper 25% of high school class; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more) in the agriculture program; and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Dr. Sharp is credited with reviving SPC’s tradition in intercollegiate rodeo in 2001 when he served as vice president for academic affairs. He retired from SPC in June 2016 and now resides in Lovington, N.M.
