Carroll and Marcie Bowen Memorial Scholarship
The Carroll and Marcie Bowen Scholarship is a general college scholarship that is awarded based on academic merit, personal character and leadership. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more) in an associate degree or certificate program; and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. The Kenneth F. and Harle G. Montgomery Foundation helped establish the Carroll and Marcie Bowen Scholarship program. Mr. Bowen served as manager of the Double U Ranch in Hockley County and served many years on the SPC Foundation Board of Directors. Mrs. Bowen was a generous contributor to the scholarship fund and continued her husband’s service to the Foundation as a member of the Foundation Board of Directors and past secretary to the board. She volunteered much of her time to the SPC Baptist Student Ministries.
