Lonnie and Floriene Stern Scholarship in Agriculture

The Lonnie and Floriene Stern Scholarship is awarded to a freshman or sophomore student majoring in Agriculture. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more); and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This scholarship program was established by Mrs. Stern of Levelland in memory of her husband who died in 2008. Mr. Stern was a graduate of Texas A&M University and worked as a cotton broker and general manager of Producer’s Market Association for 25 years. He served on the Levelland City Council. Mrs. Stern was active in Levelland as a community volunteer for many years. Mrs. Stern previously served on the board of directors of the South Plains College Foundation.
