South Plains Chapter API Scholarship in Electrical and Power Transmission Technoloogy

In 1970, the South Plains Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute Chapter began contributing scholarship funds to support selected technical programs and the pre-engineering program. This is one of SPC’s longest-standing scholarship programs and it provides scholarships for students majoring in Electrical and Power Transmission Technology. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more); and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. The two individuals who established and supported this program for many years were the late Paul Musslewhite, founder of Musslewhite Trucking in Levelland, and the late Coleman Williams of Brownfield, who worked for American Oil Company (Amoco).
