Irma Bollinger and Sherry Barsch Foreign Language Collaborative Scholarship

The South Plains Foreign Language Collaborative has established an endowed scholarship program that recognize outstanding students who are majoring in a foreign language. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more); and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This scholarship honors former foreign language educators Irma Bollinger and Sherry Barsch, who were instrumental in establishing the Collaborative which hosts the South Plains Foreign Language Festival each year at SPC. Mrs. Bollinger taught foreign language 22 years at SPC before her retirement in 2001. Mrs. Barsch taught foreign language at Levelland High School for 20 years before her retirement in 2006.
