Alton "Pete" and Charleen Pettiet Honorary Scholarship

This scholarship endowment was established by Bradley Pettiet to honor his parents Alton “Pete” and Charleen Pettiet for their long-time support and involvement in education and especially South Plains College. Mr. Pettiet, a native of Ropesville and graduate of Ropes High School, has served as a member of the SPC Board of Regents since March 1989. The Pettiets have worked in agricultural chemical sales and in agency insurance. Brad Pettiet, a 1978 graduate of SPC, is a practicing attorney in Lubbock. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding graduate of Ropes High School who is an incoming freshman at SPC. To be eligible, applicants must enroll in a minimum of 12 semester credit hours and maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
