Homer, Ruth and Justin Johnson Memorial Scholarship

The Homer, Ruth and Justin Johnson Scholarship is a general college scholarship that is available to freshmen and sophomore students. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more); and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This scholarship program was established in 1988 by the Johnson children, in memory of their father and in honor of their mother. Homer Johnson owned and operated Homer Johnson Oil and Butane, marketing Phillips Petroleum products for 50 years. He and his wife Ruth were respected community leaders. Mrs. Johnson died in 2005. The endowed scholarship also honors a grandson Justin Johnson, who died in 2009.
