Harley and Anne Bulls Memorial Scholarship in Fine Arts Music

The Harley and Anne Bulls Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding freshman or sophomore student who majors in fine arts music. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more) in the music program; and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Harley and Anne Bulls were the founding faculty for the music program at SPC. Mrs. Bulls retired in 1984 as one of the college’s original faculty members with 26 years of service. Mr. Bulls taught 21 years in the Fine Arts Department and served as department chairperson 11 years. He retired in 1980. The creation of this scholarship is a great testament to the influence of these two fine educators. As a student at South Plains College, Vickie Wilks Wisian studied music with the Bulls and they were a valuable part of her life. Elroy and Vickie Wisian established the scholarship fund in recognition of the Bulls? lifelong career of inspiring students in the fine arts.
