David & Stephanie Stanley Scholarship

The David and Stephanie Stanley Scholarship is awarded to a freshman or sophomore student majoring in history and government. Minimum qualifications include: 2.50 grade point average; full-time enrollment (12 semester hours or more) in the business program; and U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Selection is made by the faculty of the Social Science Department. The late David Stanley graduated from South Plains College and later served 22 years as a history and government professor at SPC. When he retired in 1987, he established the David and Stephanie Stanley Scholarship program, also recognizing his daughter. Stephanie Stanley-Allen taught speech communication at SPC from 2002 to 2012.
