Deborah J. Scott Memorial Scholarship

Established by SPC alumna Courtney Bullard Hurst along with her husband Justin Hurst of Austin, Texas, this scholarship endowment honors the memory of Mr. Hurst’s mother, Deborah J. Scott. Mrs. Hurst is a graduate of SPC’s Upward Bound program and preference is given to Upward Bound graduates who attend SPC. Upward Bound is part of the TRIO Programs which assist low income and disadvantaged students enter, succeed and graduate college. SPC’s program was implemented in 2003 and has served more than 400 high school students in Brownfield, Morton, Levelland, Whitharral and Whiteface. In order to be eligible, students must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average and enroll full-time at SPC.
